Carbon’Clap - The reference platform for audiovisual carbon assessment

ecoprod.com/enCarbon’Clap is the reference platform for assessing the carbon footprint of film, TV and advertising productions, used by over 5,500 professionals including M6, Arte and Canal+. I was brought in to redesign the UX/UI of the project assessment section, the key step where production teams review their carbon results.
CHALLENGE
Improve the readability and hierarchy of carbon assessments (preliminary and final reports) so production teams can quickly understand their results, while highlighting action levers and encouraging report downloads, all within the existing brand guidelines and an eco-design approach.
UX PROCESS
UX audit of the existing interface, complemented by interviews with the client to identify friction points and areas for improvement. This work revealed a lack of consistency in the color and shape of buttons and links (clickable elements), making navigation unintuitive, as well as a complex navigation structure with numerous sub-menus that made data exploration difficult.
DESIGN SOLUTIONS
Harmonization of the color and shape of action buttons and links to guide users consistently across the platform, with a dedicated color for each section to make data easier to read. Replacement of the horizontal navigation, previously fragmented into multiple sub-menus, with a sticky left-side navigation that stays accessible at all times, simplifying exploration. Overall cleanup of interface elements for a clearer, more readable layout.
RESULTS
The final designs were validated by the client and handed off to the development team, who are currently working on implementation. Once deployed, this redesign should enable faster reading of carbon results, better data exploration thanks to the new navigation, and encourage greater use of action levers among the platform’s users.
